Event Recap: San Francisco, November 2017
This month, we were back at 500 Startups. Ariya put his DJ skills to use with the sound system, and several folks broke out the ping pong paddles at the breaks. A big “Thank You” to @500 and all our sponsors for the venue, food & drink, and prizes!
We were treated to a guest speaker this month. Puon Penn heads up Wells Fargo’s Venture Group, and engaged us with a brief discussion and q&a about how Wells Fargo thinks about investing, innovation, and the future. Fun fact: Wells Fargo is the second largest purchaser of technology in the U.S. after the NSA!
Our winners were:
1st: Ned “The Riverman” Moorfield
2nd: Daniel Burrows
3rd: Lyman Thai
4th: Roman Karachinsky
Ned actually organized a regular founder poker game in Sydney for several years, which must be how he fine-tuned his uncanny ability to hit just the right card on the river – multiple times! Congrats Ned.
Thanks to all who participated! Hope to see you all and some new faces next month.
