June was the first month that we had a Big Money option at Poker 2.0, and half our players chose to play for the Big Money! We had a regular pot that everyone competed for, and a side “Big Money” pot that people who bought in at twice the buy-in price were competing for.
The first place winner happened to be a Big Money player, so he took home the first place winnings from the regular pot and the Big Money pot–the biggest single winnings amount we’ve seen so far.
Special thanks go to our bankers, Daniel Marashlian of thePortfolium and Jeff Berg of Planning Center Online! They kept the hijinks going by handling all the re-buys and goading our players into going all in.
We also welcomed several new folks to the Poker 2.0 fold. One of them even placed in the money.
We placed a bounty on Danny Shepherd’s head, since he was the first place winner at May’s Poker 2.0 tournament. But for the first time, no one felted the previous first place winner–and he won first place again! So we are increasing the bounty for Danny at July’s Poker 2.0 to $40. Whoever can felt this guy deserves the double bounty!
Here’s how it turned out for the winners:
1st place: Danny Shepherd of Titan SEO and local angel investor
2nd place: Adam Weiler of StrongVolt
3rd place: Randy Appuzo of Zesty.io
4th place: Chris Zwickilton of HouseCall
Congratulations to our winners. Many thanks to our sponsor, Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati law firm. See you at the next one!
