2010 was  a banner year for Startup Poker 2.0.  The events were bigger, the pots were richer, the food was better, the venues rocked and the trash talk flowed.  In the three-year history of Startup Poker 2.0, the players and winners have run the gamut from guys in the garage to entrepreneurial super stars and from venture bankers to super angels to the titans of venture capital.  In 2009, the pendulum swung decisively in the direction of the investor class, with investor types placing in the money at significantly higher rates than their representation at the tables.  But 2010 was definitely the year of the entrepreneur and barely a few investors have managed to make it to the winner’s circle.Poker 2.0 Trophies

With 2011 upon us, I’m issuing a challenge to the investor community to “come git some”.  What’s in it for you?  Geez… that’s easy.

  • First and foremost, you get to hang out with your startup colleagues, the best and brightest startup founders, execs and investors in Seattle — and dinner and drinks are on the house!
  • Next, you get bragging rights, a wad of cash and a trophy… if you are good enough to make it to the winner’s circle.
  • Next, you are showing your support for the startup community and in the process making a name for yourself as one the.
  • As if that weren’t enough, you also get first dibs on invites to premium Poker 2.0 events that are in the works for 2011.  If you have to find out about these events through normal media channels… it will be too late to get in.

What to do next?  If you’re new to Poker 2.0, shoot me an email at bob.crimmins{at}gmail.com and I’ll put you on the invitee list.  If you’re an investor already on the Poker 2.0 invite list, then spread the word to your fellow investor colleagues to join the list.  If your an entrepreneur of a funded company, tell your own investors to join in.

I look forward to seeing you all at the tables in 2011!
