Due to the increasing popularity of Poker 2.0 events, I’m having to make some changes in the way invitations are managed for non-founders and non-investors.  As it stands, each event fills up within about 30 – 60 minutes of the invitation being sent out each month.  With a growing number of value-add service providers showing up each month it is beginning to have an unwanted impact on the number seats available for entrepreneurs and investors… the folks that the event is intended for.  This is not to say that it isn’t valuable to have a few of these folks at the tables — having strong relationships with attorneys, bankers, accountants, etc. is not without value for a startup founder.  But just as a few cloves of garlic can add a lot to a savory dish, too much garlic and it will only be palatable to a few die hard garlic lovers.  As such, Poker 2.0 invitations will be extended to  invitees in the following order of precedence:

  • 1st: Tech startup  founders, execs, investors, event sponsors
  • 2nd: Special guests, press, community orgs
  • 3rd: Non-sponsoring, core startup service providers

There will be between a few hours and a few days delay between each round of invitations.  As always, I will be tweeting advanced notification before invites get sent out so if you you want to get a jump on the crowd then you might consider following me on Twitter — @bcrimmins.

If you have a product or service you think could add value to tech startup founders or investors then I invite you to consider becoming a Poker 2.0 sponsor.  Message me if you want more information about sponsorship options.

Hope to see you at the tables soon….
